Periscope = Down the Tube

I started the Radio Shitshow about 6 months ago. We were knee deep in the Pandemic. I wanted to use the forced opportunity to engage in some long dormant dream hobbies, and my WFH situation for work had already necessitated that I have slightly better video and audio capturing devices and such, so I had what I needed to do a Pirate Radio show, minus the transmitter. I also wanted to connect with friends that I couldn't see and probably should have seen more often before the COVID lockdown, anyway. I wanted to do something fun and recalled how inspired I was by the movie Pump Up The Volume.
I looked into terrestrial FM transmitters, but that would, at best, reach neighbors up to a mile away. I didn't want to share with my neighbors...this was a way to virtually hang out that wasn't some awkward zoom cocktail hour. I was gonna play DJ for, and chat with some friends. I decided it'd be pirate INTERNET radio.
Every option i looked at seemed to spell trouble. Youtube, Facebook and similar would immediately silence or shut down my stream because...copyrights! And Twitch, a place previously housing many "DJs" was cracking down, too. I then remembered that Twitter had it's own weird live stream video service, periscope. I found home here, as it was the wild west of live video streaming and it was easy enough to get word spread (Twitter and all that) and set up OBS to stream to Periscope.
But the day has come to move on as twitter has decided to integrate whatever is useful into twitter itself and kill periscope. They say you can keep doing the videos via twitter but it's a closed trial and it's obvious the plan is to better monetize and that means pay attention to, and stop people like me from playing others music. So I have to move on. I've already tried Youtube knowing it wouldn't work. I thought because I was only getting 20 max viewers that Twitch wouldn't be an issue. They started muting my audio.
So now I have a direct HD Audio (128kbps) stream that you can listen to here but that's only have the fun. The Video and Chat are the rest of it. For now, my solution MAY be to use Twitch for Video (and my vocal audio included) and operate the audio stream separate. So you would log on to my Twitch stream, then go over and click on the Internet Radio Stream for the actual music etc. audio. basically splitting it into two feeds, Video + Audio. I'm looking at another way, so if you have any suggestions, let me know, but for now something like that will be the plan. I have really grown to love the shitshow. Not only is it fun, it's one of the few silly little ideas that I've had, that I've actually seen all the way through!
Bye for now, nerds.
